Doesn't the Bible say that any man who does not care for his family is worse than a man of the nations. (Unbeliever) These people have been at Bethel for decades and are coldly turned out and probably never prepared for a career in the world because they went to Bethel nearly right out of high school are now expected to go out and sink or swim without any help from the society who put them in this predicament. I say the people (GB or Coporate Board) who made this decision not caring for their own family are worse than an unbeliever and they should be disfellowshipped and kicked out of Bethel themselves. But since the devil is running things in New York everthing turns out the opposite of whats right.

Changes at NY Bethel
by architect inlast dec 2005, the ny bethel gave talks indicating that they had to downsize (word is mine) due to "improved technology" and that as a result of this simplification some bethel family members would be invited to serve in the united states field in various assignments at various congregations where the excellent training they have recieved at bethel could be put to use and contribute much to the preaching and disciple making work.. what do you make of this?.
i wonder how they would determine who stays or goes?.
are there any former bethel members out there who can comment on rather this would be an easy transistion for those who have to leave?.

I think they should carbon date members of the GB, they might find some prehistoric relics there.

Why we should be glad WT apologists post here
by Lady Lee inno i haven't lost all my marbles -- yet.
they serve as reminders of what we have left behind and never want to go back to.people who have some doubts or questions about the wts and come to this board can see for thewmselves how jws don't have answers for everything.
in fact they have a very hard time defending their faithi have yet to see any person post here who has seen the real truth about the wts; teachings turn around and say, "yes i'm going back even if i know they are wrong.

We'll if we could go back in time and meet ourselves when we were brainwashed JW's we might not like the person we meet. Our arguments as a JW with our current selves would sound narrow minded and brainwashed. And in those days we would argue because we thought we were on God's side, so I am just advocating patients with the JW's who come here, if in fact there are really JW's and not imposters.
Also I also would like thank the moderators, I think they are doing a good job, especially since they haven't kicked me of yet. .

Service talk on changes at Bethel, layoffs, spirit of urgency
by truthseeker inlast week an elder who has served in bethel gave the service meeting talk, which referred to the front page of the sep km (which i don't yet have) on the governing body's letter to all publishers.. he started by saying that "drastic times call for drastic measures" - bethel was going through periods of rapid change.. he referred to a symposium given by brother jaracz and splane last december, where they tried to brush off the layoffs saying everyone had to keep "up with jehovah's celestial chariot".
bethelites were being reassigned to the field, and this would be difficult for them.
some in bethel who were being reassigned had been there 20 or 30 years.

Well I seriously doubt any of the cuts will come from the Governing Body. Nor will they make any sacrifices like less travel, unless of course there is another Ray Franz independent thinker they want to get rid of.

With all the money the society rakes in why do they have to turn these people out. Just more for the GB I guess.

The ideal christian church should be how?
by greendawn inthe wts claims that it is the true christian religion but it obviously isn't, it is a heartless business more than anything else.
but how do imagine the true religion to be?
it obviously should be very spiritual but how exactly is this to be manifested in its life?

Bill Clinton on CNN
by sammielee24 inbill clinton interview on cnn about global poverty issues.
i love some of the programs he talked about and showed during the interview - and i like the way he recognizes and puts some value on helping people up - i especially liked the program for the rural farmer where he gets 5 cows to start his farm up and after a specific amount of time, he in turn gives 5 of his now growing herd, on to the next guy to start his farm.
giving people a hand is not giving them a hand out.

What rural farmer is he talking about, most rural farmers are being bought out by the big ag. industry farms. The organic farmers are being harassed by the goverment in this state.

WTS and Rock 'n Roll
by roflcopter inback in the day when rock 'n roll was the hot new thing, and all the parent thought elvis and his gyrating hips were from the devil, did the crotchtower babel and crapped society have anything to say about this in their literature?

I remember when Nathan Knorr was speaking at an assembly in Minnesota he sarcastically referred to the Beatles as those 'hairy men.' I also remember an article in the Tower that also made reference to John Lennon's remark about the Beatles being more popular than Christ, which I heard he later stated in an interview that he meant more as a criticism of the attitudes of fans.

Do the Governing Body have a priviliged life style or not?
by Gill inhaving heard that ted jaracz is being flown out of state to consult a heart specialist, i started wondering what other luxuries the governing body of the wtbts enjoy!

They are elitist, and they don't care what you think. If you don't agree with them you get disfellowshipped and can't speak to your family. What a theocratic dictatorship.

Why was Leo Greenlees pursuaded to go? He was at Bethel when I was there seemed harmless.
